Catskill 3500's – 4 seasons, 4 in a row!

On Saturday, August 27th I became a 4-season 35’r, wrapping up my climbs of each of the 35 Catskill high peaks, at least once in each of the 4 seasons, for 4 seasons in a row.

I had the pleasure of finishing with a wonderful group of hikers, most of whom were accomplishing (or had previously) accomplished much larger goals than I - congratulations to the 2 grid finishers and everyone else who was completing their Spring single-season.

  • Days on trail: 40 hiking days

  • Total peaks: 140 + a few extra here and there

  • Total distance: Lot’s of miles (maybe I’ll count them all up later)

  • Total elevation gain: Lot’s of elevation (maybe I’ll count it all up later)

A few highlights.

  • Finishing with a great crew!

  • Winter snowshoe adventures.

  • The “6” became the “9”.

  • Lot’s of fun swag from Hikers Anonymous.

  • A few decent views.

  • Good company along the way.

Finishing with a great crew!

Two grid finishers, several single-season finishers, homemade treats, wow! Thank you all for letting me join you!

Winter snowshoe adventures.

Lot’s of good fun was found out in the snow during the winter months.

The “6” became the “9”.

Taking on the “6” twice (in Fall and Winter), a traverse which includes 4 of the more remote, un-trailed peaks on the 35, evolved to taking on the “9” in the spring and summer - once with a group and once solo.

Fun swag to celebrate accomplishments.

Thanks Hikers Anonymous and Catskill 3500 Club.

A few decent views.

While the Catskills is not known for its views, it has its moments!

Good company along the way.

I has the pleasure of hiking alongside a lot of great people along the way.
